. The pimples look like there was a crater in the center. I never noticed any puss and they had no pain or burning. There was only 2 pimples for about a week and durring that time they seemed to decrease in size. Then I noticed a few more show up below the orginal 2, then the next day 2 more showed up. These looked more like a pimple you would find on your face
. They were a rasied dome shaped pimple kind of yellowish. Durring week 2 these began to shrink allong with the orginal ones, and appeared to leave a small black head
next to each other. I never felt any pain or burning, or any had any other symptoms. Now I am on week 3 and the orginal group has started to go away, but 1 new one has formed at the base of my penis shaft. Looks similar, like a domed shaped pimple, no pain, feels like it has a hard center.
I have been in a relationship for almost 3 years, and my girl friend has never had anyhting like this.
1. Does this sound like herpes?
2. I have an apt with a urologist, but not sure if I need to see a dermotalagist?
I recommend you go to a doctor while you have symptoms. 3 weeks is too long to wait in my opinion. I would recommend you get a blood test and don't let the doctors talk you out of it. If you were fine, up until now she gave might have given this to you. I know what you are going through, I hope everything is fine.
I went to my dr yesterday and he says the rash looks like herpes but is confused becasue I have no pain. He said it could just be a derma something, and we did a culture and blood test. He was pretty certian that if this is herpes that I got it recently with in the last month or so. He said 2- 6 weeks after infection is when your first outbreak usualy occurs. As I stated before I have been in a relationship with 1 women going on 3 years next Feb. Could I have contracted this years ago, and just now had my first outbreak? My Dr. says no. Is it possible for this to be dorment that long, and can i have passed this on to my girl firend even if it was dorment?
dermatitis is probably the word he said. That's pretty much just a fancy word for you've got a rash.
It's not accurate to say that just because you have symptoms now that it has to be recently acquired. If neither you or your gf have ever had herpes igg blood tests done - now is a good time to get them done to rule out herpes. Lesion culture are notoriously falsely negative so blood testing is also needed. either of you could've had herpes and never knew it. Your doctor was wrong when he said that no you couldn't have had this for years and not known it until now. that's actually one of the most common scenerios.
I think my Dr and my self are assuming this is the first outbreak. I have never had any thing like this any where around my gentials before. I quess my question was is it possible to contact the virus and not have an out break until years later?
The thing is - the vast majority of folks who have genital herpes, just don't think that they are having ob's until they get something so obvious that they can't ignore. About 1/2 of all presumed newly acquired infections aren't so blood testing now will help rule that out. You and your gf only want type specific herpes igg blood tests. do not get the igm test.
