Pityriasis Rosea is herpes? Help

I started developing some red scaly rashes about three weeks ago on my biceps and on my forearms. Went to the dermatologist and he immediately said it was pityriasis rosea. Now upon "Internet searching" I found out that its herpes.

I have a few questions:

How did I get this?
Could it be linked to a scare I had 5 months ago receiving oral sex?
How likely is the doctor to diagnose this by just looking at it?
Should I be worried about passing it to a family member?

A few days after seeing the doctor, I also developed 3 pimple like blisters with clear liquid on them after I popped them that now have turned into small scabs. I am worried.

I tested negative at the 2 day mark and 12 week mark after the scare. I guess it said the virus was detected but it was so little that it was considered negative. IgG tests specific.

Help...

I have a love/hate relationship with the Internet. I swear. Ha ha

Thanks again grace. What I read was that PR was somehow linked to hhsv7 and 6. So that's why I was asking. It freaked me out. Especially after some of the single spots I have had clear fluid inside them.

I guess I just have to ride this and wait for it to go on its own.

that is not herpes !!!!  I don't think you understood what you read at all.  it is typically thought to be triggered by viral infections, it isn't a herpes infection.
