Plan of action to tackle that a re-occuring outbreak when you first feel symptoms?

Hey guys,

Quick question - I just got over my first out-break about 3 weeks ago roughly and started taking valtrex one a day as suppresive therapy - after a weekend of intense birthday drinking (i know, it is my fault) and too much coconut water (L-Arginine) i noticed the small area getting itchy and red.

Should i up my dose of Val to 500mg 2x a day, Lysine vitamins and is there something i can do to speed healing (aside from keeping area dry)

Also, should i pop the small blisters before they become larger?

Thank you very much.

How do you know the itching is from a herpes outbreak? Alcohol/ sugars/ even natural sugars have been known to cause a pH inbalance inside the vagina. Could be a minor yeast infection.

Ps- I love coconut water and not about to give that up! don't deprive yourself of that. LOL. the coconut water with pineapple is soo good too!

no need to worry about arginine - the lysine/arginine connection never panned out outside of the lab. They are even using arginine in studies to treat herpes!  lysine supplementation also isn't of any use for herpes either. most of us already get more than enough of it in our day to day diets anyways.

don't pop the blisters!

you can try steeping a tea bag, letting it cool and then using it as a compress on the area - helps reduce redness and itching.
