Yes you can go back on valtrex.

If you have an increase in swelling though and it's around the head, go elsewhere for a 2nd opinion.  It should've been getting better by now, even without valtrex, not worse.

Even when you know you have genital herpes, not everything that goes on in the genital area is due to herpes.

they origionally broke the blisters on an outbreak and sent it to the lab results came back positive, so its ok to have this outbreak for more then a week, there is swelliing now near the head all around the shaft its very uncomphortable sorry about my spelling, and i have been off the valtrex completly now for 4 days, is it safe to start taking it twice daily now to get rid of this out break?

Daily suppressive therapy is a personal choice and is never the wrong choice if it's what you want.  why in the world did the doc say you should've never been put on it?

How were you originally diagnosed as having hsv2?

when you have an ob, you up your valtrex to 500mg 2x/day for 3 days to help speed healing.  It can take a week or more for an ob to heal but if it's getting worse instead of better, be seen and get this checked out to make sure that it's really all just herpes causing your symptoms.
