Positive w/ Blood Test, Negative w/ PCR

I got a few sores inside my mouth a few weeks ago, so I went to two different clinics to check them out. In one clinic, the doctor took a cotton swab and used realtime PCR test. My results came out negative for herpes simplex 1/2. The doctor said the sores were probably cold sores. In a different clinic, the doctor drew my blood. A week and a half later, she called and said I had antibodies and tested positive both for herpes simplex 1 and 2. They are both standing by their results. Which test is more accurate? Do I have both types of herpes or none at all?

Thanks,
