Possible Herpes? Please Help!

So for the past 2 months my scrotum and some of the area around has been itching. The doctor told me I had jock itch and he prescribed me some stuff and the jock itch looking redness went away but I was still pretty itchy especially on my scrotum. I had had jock itch before many times in the past ( I work out alot and tend to sweet alot down there) and used the Lotrimin spray and it seemed to work so i decided to do that again. Well after doing that for about a week probably 3 times a day I went into my pool for about an hour when on of my testicles started to burn. It burned very bad and I immediatley got out and went into the shower where I got some relief. Pretty much the entire left testicle was red and looked very dry, also pretty swollen. I tried aloe vera and cortaid but both made the burning worse. The only thing that worked was gold bond powder. The burning stopped after about a day and a half but two days after the incident some of the areas of the rash started to scab up, the scabs looked sort of yellow and there was a bunch of them. The entire rash was gone in less than a week but Im concerned that it might be herpes. No pain of anything on my penis just scrotum. I did found out that my dad hasnt been treating our pool for quite sometime because he no longer lives here so he thinks that becasue my skin down there is extra sensitive and I was spraying stuff on it that the pH being of in the pool probably upset it. I did have unprotected sex twice about 8 weeks prior to this pool incident with two different people but I knew both of them very well. Any advice would be helpful.

Hi, only testing would confirm if you have herpes but from what your describing does not appear herpes related at all. Herpes sores dont react as youve described with the yellow puss filled as are clear liquid. Also the area is not common at all as the skin is to thick in the scrotum area.

I forgot to mention that after the rash cleared up I started to itch again until I stopped using this new body wash I was using and then the itching finally subsided so Im pretty sure that may have been the cause of the itch.
