Possible Herpes/STD symptoms?

Hello,

I received protected oral sex and gave very brief unprotected cunnilingus to a massage parlour worker about 3 months ago. She seemed clean and I didn't notice anything unusual. But then again we were in a dark lit room.

Today I've been having itching all over my body, including groin and pelvic area, as well as sometimes on my face. It occurs mostly at night. I've also had random muscle twitching and tingling when I'm trying to go to sleep and as a result it takes me awhile to get some rest (this is my most concerning symptom since I've read enough horror stories online about muscle twitching/tingling being associated with herpes). I also find myself very tired throughout the day, even if I just woke up. My last symptom I would like to discuss is a minor tingling in my anus area that almost feels like hem's but has no bump(I do suffer from hem's in the past). It comes and goes and isn't too painful.

Other than the muscle tingling and twitching I have no visible symptoms such as blisters, both on my mouth and my genitals. I do get red spots around my groin area and that's probably due to excessive scratching.

Am I at a potential risk for herpes or std's? I'm currently doing my testing and have so far tested negative for chlam and gono. I am currently waiting for my syphilis and HIV results and am considering testing for HSV next. My normal blood work is all normal as well.

I've checked with 3 different doctors about this situation and they all examined my genitals for potential herpes symptoms. They've said that they didn't notice anything that resembles herpes but like I said, I've read horror stories online where people said that they indeed did have herpes despite what doctors told them. I know that the doctor probably has the most expert opinion and I probably shouldn't google so much, but in the back of my head I am still really concerned.

To sum it up, these symptoms have been going on for about 3 weeks now. If anyone can please help me that would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hello. From your description, it surely doesn't appear to be hsv, especially without the presence of lesions.

The chances of getting hsv from the brief oral are low, low enough not to be concerned with it.

Googling things is not the best action, because a lot of it is taken out of context.

If you do not have hsv and contract it, you would most likely have an outbreak.

I went through a somewhat similar situation, and by googling, I had every std imaginable. Once I calmed down, my symptoms, though different from yours, went away.

If you do decide to get tested for piece of mind, ensure it's the igg test and not igm, as that's not reliable and could give false positives.

I hope this provide some kind of comfort.

Thank you very much for your response. I'm just really concerned and am really kicking myself for making a dumb decision to have that kind of exposure. I'm really thinking ahead to the future and worried sick about telling my family and how much medication would cost. I'm currently unemployed and that was the main reason why I got the massage in the first place. But yeah really stressing out. Sorry I'm venting a bit but I'm thankful for your assurance. I'll try my best not to google so much. Thank you once again.
I wondered about what. Chris. Said. When. He mentioned calming down and symptoms go away.
I have no outer symptoms and just keep thinking my brain is making pains up that aren't really there.. Hoping it goes away.. Glad to hear similar experience..

You're very welcome.

From personal experience, and after speaking with some very educated people on this board, thinking back on something that you may regret doing, and dwelling on it, can really get to you. Your brain can start making you feel things that aren't there, or heighten your senses into thinking something is out of the ordinary, when it's just natural sensations you normally wouldn't pay attention to.

Not saying that's happening in your case, but if it's happening mostly when you're laying down thinking about it, it could be regret/guilt.

Your encounter was low risk, not 100%, but very low. Definitely doesn't would like have though and kudos for using protection during most of it.

Just an update. I completed my testing for Gono, Chlam, Syph and HIV. All came back negative. As for Herpes I had three doctors examine me, especially my genital area(one was a walk in clinic doctor, the other two were sexual health clinic doctors). They all said there isn't any sign of herpes.

Although my muscle twitching and movements are still a concern, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm going to see a neurologist and a sleep clinic regarding the twitching matter.

Thank you so much once again for your assurance and help. It really means alot.
