Possible vaccine?

So, after getting my results, I've been scouring the internet for more info on herpes. Have to say, this is one of the best resources out there.

Anyway, there's seems to be a lot of snake oil salesmen, especially on youtube, selling the cure.

One article I found looks on the level though, and seems like they may be on their way to a vaccine and possible cure, http://www.lifescientist.com.au/article/403643/experimental_dna_vaccine_gives_full_protection_against_herpes/

Now, as I'm all new to this, would be great to get some feedback from those who've been around a while dealing with this.

Cheers

this is only being studied in animals at this point. It could be years, if ever, until it starts human trials.

there are several vaccines and theracines ( vaccines for folks already infected to free them from their pills ) in the works right now. as any get to at least stage 2 trials, we report on them :)

Cheers Steph, the article doesn't come across as a scam, and really looks like they're on to something.

A vaccine would offer a brighter future even for those who are infected.

There is no known cure. Anything claiming to sell a cure is a scam! I have heard that scientists are working on a vaccine for those who have not been infected, but not sure the status. I dont think there will be a cure for those infected.  Its something we gotta live with unfortunately.  Suppression therapy is proven though to reduce outbreaks and reduce shedding. Ask your doc about it.
