Prodromes.

Can someone tell me exactly what a prodrome feels like before an outbreak? Not just "burning" or "itching" or "tingling" but what it really feeeeels like?

I totally forgot that I felt a weird prickle back in january. I felt the weirdness within 2 days. i was so paranoid about it that immediately afterwards i wouldnt stop touching my goods so eventually i wrote it off as me just irritating the **** out of my vagina. or so i hope! Nothing ever came about it though. almost a year later, never an outbreak or anything. Everyone said it probably isnt herpes, and I never felt anything like it again. And i totally forgot about it until just now (asking about UTIs on here!)

does a prickle mean irritation or herpes? i never got any sores, i hear the first outbreak would be the worst, and so i only assume that if i got the prodromes i woulda gotten an awful outbreak, but i really dont know. but yeah its been over 10 months.

oh yeah and how long does this feeling last? do you always get an outbreak if you feel it? if it aborts, how long do you feel the prickle before it goes away to find nothing happened?

i had a prickle for over a week, maybe 2 weeks, thats why. nothing happened.

If you are worried about herpes, get a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is. It's been more than enough time since this all happened to do it.

Many things can cause a prickly feeling down yonder from too tight low waist jeans to dryness to vaginitis. At this point figuring out what caused this that long ago is impossible.
