Question about herpes sores

Hi,

Would symptoms of herpes (itching, burning, etc) be localized to only the spot where skin is infected (red, raised areas) or would there be itching/burning all over the genitals. I have small areas of redness at the base of my penis  and a coupld ingrown hairs in front where pubic hair grows after protected vaginal intercourse two weeks age.

I have general burning/itching all parts of the genitals (testicles, thighs, where the pubic hair grows(mostly), at the base of the penis, etc) Basically everywhere but the penis shaft and tip.

I'm sorry I keep pushing questions on you and I thank you very much for your input.
I'm just pretty worried and I guess feeeling guilty for sleeping with a random girl. Makes me have the feeling like I deserve to have something more than jock itch. Your opinion does give me some piece of mind, thank you!

I will let you know how everthing goes when it's all wrapped up.

Thanks Grace.

this doesn't sound at all like herpes.  sounds like classic jock itch which can take awhile to find a medication that works for you for it.

On day 5 of using the cream. The itching has definitely reduced but seems to come and go. It tends to get more itchy as the day goes on and then as soon as I shower the itch subsides. I also notice the itch and some burning most during and after workouts or playing sports.

The areas of redness are still present. They are present on both sides of my penis where the scrotum meets the skin of the pubic bone (there are folds present here with very small red areas). I also have slight redness/itchiness on both groins.

If this was herpes how long would these areas remain red/itchy before turning back to regular skin?
Is it common for symptoms of jock itch to get worse as the day goes on/ the area become more dirty or sweaty?
Would the use of anti fungal cream relieve itch due to herpes?
To get an IgG test is it necessay to wait the entire 3 months?

I'm still completely freaked out about this being herpes. I've just starting dating someone and have no idea how to put off being intimate ( I can't put it off for another 2 months to wait for the IgG test). I could not handle it if it was herpes and I passed it on to her.

it can take a week or longer until the yeast medications help. keep using it as directed and if you still aren't better in a week or two, return for further evaluation. sometimes you have to try a few different yeast creams before you find one that works for you.

Doctor also thought jock itch because of the absence of any distinct blisters or sores.

I've been using canastan for thr past few days. Still no sores but the itch is still present. Definitely not as significant as before but enough to keep me worried.

Hope you and the doctor are correct.

sorry i posted twice. I wasn't sure if I had to include you in the "to" or not.

The doctor I saw does not believe the redness I have is herpes. They did not think the itching in the area was caused by herpes. They did a quick exam of the area, which felt a bit rushed. They said that the lesions that would be present would be distinct and easy to diagnose if present.

It just seems like too many of the symptoms I read on the Net to not be herpes and the timeline for symptoms seems to fit perfectly.
The itchy burning feeling is all over the genitals. There are no blisters but some small red areas. I have not had any fever, swollen lymph nodes, etc described in primary infection.
I guess I just can't get over the itching in the area.

I would love to hear if you have any insight on the doctors thoughts and if I should be more concerned than what the doctor thought.
