Question on false positives?

Ok so i haven't had sex in about a year prior to this test. I noticed a few flesh colored bumps that almost looked like skintags. Theyd stay there for months.

So eventually i went and got tested at planned parenthood. The DR diagnosed as molluscum. I asked for a herpes test and she said i didnt need one cause she was sure i didnt have it. I insisted and they drew blood and administered the test.

Fast forward to today and i get a call that im positive for HSV2?! Apparently anything over 1.10 is positive. Well my results were i tested 1.14, it was a Herpetest IGG.

Im just looking for any input or advice on this. I just cant imagine this being correct and that i got a positive result for being .05 over.

I would take another igg first. If it comes back negative then move on. Your bumps are not hsv. They would not be there for months

Statistically you have a better than 50/50 chance that this is a false positive. You not having sex in over a year I believe you are closer to 85% that this is a false positive. I won't say it certainly but I am very confident it is. Low false positives are pretty common. The hsv2 test is very sensitive and cross over from hsv1 is common. So is the test picking up odd protiens of similar weight.
Think of the number as a confidence number. The higher the number the more sure the test is it saw the antibodies. Your score indicates it saw something but has no idea what.

Da.aged skin would be my guess. No need to wait months to retest. I would retest two weeks or so after the first test.

Should i wait 3 months or go immediately?

And just an fyi, i was applying apple cider vinegar to a bump i thought was molluscum. It really damaged the skin and now looks like a reddish bump with yellow colored dots inside? Could this be my first outbreak or just damaged skin from the ACV

Thanks again

Yea i went to planned parenthood and they didnt test HSV1. I def have some bumps and stuff donw below but theyve been there months. And are painless.  I also figure if i was infected a year or more ago my number would be much higher than 1.14 and much more conclusive.

Looking to aquire a western blot test. Any info on getting one would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
