Question re HSV2 location on body

Question re HSV2 location on body

Is it possible to have genital herpes in a place other than your genitals?  Like on your thighs or buttocks?  With no sores/lesions in vagina or anal area.  If so, would that mean your partner cannot contract HSV2 thru regular intercourse or oral sex since the herpes is located outside the vagina.  They would only contract it if they touched the rash/sores located on the thighs or buttocks during an outbreak?

Thank you

it's still all genital herpes. it's the same  nerves infected and you shed the virus from the anogenital area both with obvious lesions on non-genital areas as well as periodically in between. it's no different risk from someone who gets lesions on their actual genitals.

it's most helpful when you just keep adding questions to your original post instead of making a new one each time. we ask this in our read before posting post on this forum. thank you for your future cooperation with this.

Thank you.  I'm sorry about the posting.  I have only posted twice and since it was on a different question I thought I could just start a new one.  If I have any further questions should I just continue from this one, or should I go back to the original?
