Question regarding iGG testing

I'm concerned with my iGG test. Around 12 weeks ago I had a risky unprotected encounter with a girl who supposedly gets around. Since then I've had some red bumps In my pubic area after shaving (which I normally never get), a consistently red itchy scrotum, a red itchy anus for the same amount of time, and weird butt pain when sitting and lower back pain. Not sure if this is all related? I had my herpeselect test which was negative at 12 weeks. The dermatologist says this is most likely some kind of fungal infection, but the other symptoms are so close to the ones with herpes. Just want another opinion thank you.

Those are clear negative scores. You do not have either type of HSV.

Your symptoms do not align with herpes, but do align with a persistent fungal infection.

Hi grace I was wondering if you had any knowledge on my testing results. My scores were .071 and .078 is that normal for there to be three decimals?

Hi again, I requested to get my actual scores from my herpeselect test and they were .071 & .078. I never have seen them with three decimals is that right? I got the numbers directly through the lab

I agree with Life360.

I have spent more time than most people you'll meet researching the virus and if you are negative for both at 12 weeks, I think you can comfortable assuming you weren't infected with either strain (during or before that encounter).

I asked about both HSV1 and HSV2 because having an existing HSV1 infection has proven to extend the period of time for your body to make antibodies (by a month or so).   You don't have that issue.  Your test is credible.

Take some time away from reading about herpes.  Try to get your mind off of it regardless of what you feel or think you feel.

If your still concerned  you have herpes then have another test next month. By the way, 12 weeks is considered the window period for testing. Understand that when a person becomes infected, their body begins to build antibodies. These antibodies start showing up around 8 weeks post exposure. You tested at 12 and are completely negative. But do test again if your concerned.

Do any of you have hsv? Not to be nosy by any means but if you're open about it how long did it take you to show up on an igg? I just question the internet and would rather talk to real people. Thank you

Your negative for both. At 12 weeks if you were infected you would have shown a low positive not totally negative. So consider yourself negative.

Are both HSV types negative (HSV1 and HSV)?

If so, your test at 12 weeks is probably >90% valid.
