Hi I have a couple of questions in regards to my chances of catching Herpes..

1) On the weekend I slept with a girl who afterwards told me she had genital herpes, I work protection but she did give me oral without protection. She has never had an outbreak or any symptoms. Its been 5 days since thats happened and I have a pain behind my testicles, it doesn't hurt to urinate and there are no sores or rashes. Would my chances be higher of catching it?

2) I went to my doctor the following day and went for blood tests for all STDs they all came back clear except for oral herpes. My question is would a positive result shown up in that time for HSV-2 or not?

I am sure you are fine and the pain behind your testicles are not herpes symptoms. The HSV test the next day would not show the virus. It could take up to 3 months to show. Why would this girl knowingly have sex with you and when you are both done, tell you she has genital herpes??? That's pretty irresponsible on her part.

Thanks for the reply. I went back to the doctor who said I have an infected prostate but the anti biotics dont seem to be clearing it up just yet. Seem to be getting lower abdominal pains as well he said the chances of me contracting the Herpes virus is very low so hopefully I didnt. I did test positive to HSV-1 though on the test and have never had a cold sore.

Most people have HSV1.  

Wait 3 months and get another herpes test but like slacker said, your symptoms are not those of HSV2.

Infection of the prostate takes a LONG LONG LONG time to cure. It is very difficult to get the antibiotics inside of the protate to clear it all up but stay on the regiment of drugs that will take about 10 weeks to cure and things will be better.
