Questions Regarding Herpes / HSV1

Recently, I had received protected oral sex from a stranger. May i know are the risks much lower with protected sex?
In addition, I am starting to worry that I might contacted HSV1 as sores resembling the 'cold sores' have started to grow on my forehead. Does Cold sores always start to grow from the lips area instead?

Yes, may be no risk. If HSV1 infected person performed oral sex on your genital area ( Not mouth to mouth kissing) and you get infected on your genital area so the symptoms will on genital not on face.

it's not likely you have hsv lesions on your forehead. see your provider today or tomorrow and have these looked at.

The risk of a std from receiving oral is low overall. it's still a good idea when you aren't aware of your partner's std status that you only give and receive protected oral sex. also saves you from worrying too :)

I will most probably undergo a blood and urine test to get myself checked.

As I have found information online that HSV1 can be transmitted to others through saliva when the viral shedding, I am pretty worried that I can transmitted this virus to my loved ones.

Yes World78, the other party did not give me any mouth to mouth kissing but only performed oral sex on me. But i have also found information that oral herpes which is caused by HSV1, could be transmitted by giving oral sex and that cold sores could be found on the face area (especially around the lips and mouth). Is it true?

Hey just to clarify from your reply, if my sex partner and I did not engage in mouth to mouth kissing but just receiving oral sex, are the risks of me getting oral herpes is low?
