Reacurring fever blisters

Reacurring fever blisters

I have had or what I belive I had a reacurring fever blister for the past 2 weeks. I got a small pimple like thing on my mustache and then I treated it with Abreva and it went away fast then I got anouther one next to it but a bit apart and I treated it went away then I got anouther one next to the old one. I then got anouther one on my chin it went away with Abreava then I got anouther one. They dont weep and they just look like small pimples. I cant explain it once one goes away anouther one comes back in anouther spot. Is this pretty common for fever blisters ow and I have not had one on my lip  at all.

Am  planning on going to the doc this week but I dont know what doc to go to is it better to go to my general doc, dermatalogist or a disease specialist.

Hi, I would suggest you go see your general doctor so he can get some lab work done for herpes 1 and 2 igg. It is extremely important for you or anyone to wash their hands after a blister like occurence since they can be contagious and therefore the reoccurences are the reason. Herpes 1 is a virus and will be with you forever so it is important to get tested. Some of the symptoms are tingling sensations before or even when having the blister-pimple.

This sounds more like a regular ole pimple issue or even ingrown hair/folliculitis type issue than hsv1 .   That said - you could still have hsv1 and these just are not symptoms of it.  Why not get a herpes blood test done while herpes is on your mind just so you that you know your status if you are concerned about herpes.

What type of doctor would better serve this purpose a general doctor or a dermatalogist.

Your regular doctor is a good place to start.

Seems like an infection of some sort for sure but not neccesarily Herpes it could be something as simple as an insect bite you have spread through touching and fiddling around with it ( as we do )
But when this sort of thing happens it's always best to err on the side of caution for your own peace of mind and also to protect others just incase!!
