Reading my results! HELP!

Hi! As I said in my other post I got tested and got a call back from the doctor saying that I tested positive but they don't know which one (could not be determined) and to come back in 6 weeks to do further tests and not to worry. Here is my results :
HSV TYPE 1 AB, IGG. 0.69
HSV TYPE 2 AB, IGG. 0.19
HSV IGM AB 1.24

Someone let me know what it means? I go back in 6 weeks to retest.

Thank you! I figured that I was negative because what doctor tells someone you have tested positive for a std but not to worry? She sounded so unsure about the whole thing and to come back in 6 weeks. Glad I got some clarification on this! I was so worried!!!

Yes I can tell you exactly what that means. Some doctors have no idea.

You IgG confirms that you are negative for HSV and were not infected at least 12 weeks prior to the test, probably a fair bit less than that.

Your HSV1 reading looks a little elevated but I wouldn't worry about this

Blasted IgM testing! In theory if infected in the last say 3-4 weeks, your IgM may be positive. The trouble is, false positives outnumber these occasions. Unless you have had sexual intercourse with a partner of unknown status in the last few weeks and some genital symptoms then you can safely ignore the IgM result.

I'd only retest if you had symptoms of concern. Only get the IgG tests next time, IgM isn't worth the hassle!
