Recent got oral herpes from oral sex, effecting eyes

Hello,

I had an odd immune system ever since i got genital herpes type 1 from oral sex two years ago. I was told by the repeated negative blood tests that i didnt have herpes until several doctoral examined my every two-3 week long lasting herpes sores and finally put me on valtrex which ended up working after a year of constant outbreaks. it was a long road indeed I even had you fooled because of the negative blood tests.

anyhow i recently engaged in oral sex with a stranger that claimed she was clean, two days later i had all similiar feelings i got when i first got genital herpes. swollen glands along both sides of my neck and armpits pain and vision complications with several red lines going at my pupil with heavy fatigue and malaise that lasted a month! Its wild because my last random experience i did was when i got genital herpes! worst luck ever i know! Anyhow the doctors tested me for the regular viral illnesses like mono and epstein bar virus everything came back negative, full std panel minus herpes all negative. Now I take 2 grams of valtrex daily or i get a genital infection, its hard to get a swab in of any sores (had two on my eye brow-cultured 3 days later, negative. my big problem is my eyes, i get the really bad red veins a lot of them going towards my pupil and my vision has been getting worse daily. i am waiting to see an eye doctor but no insurance is taking forever as i am waiting to be seen. I know alot of this sounds too crazy to be true but its the honest truth. I've tried several eye drops as well prescribed by regular doctors that make it worse. I am still getting nodes swollen on the other side of my neck. I smoke occasionally and everytime i smoke my eyes seem to get an outbreak both or just one! light sensitivity has been a huge issue as well. Have you had a patient with eye compications from hsv2 oral? please help! THANKS!

If she has genital HSV 1 and you also have HSV 1 (at least one of which is an assumption not a proven fact), then you won't transmit the infection back and forth between you, no.

You state in the paragraph above that you have HSV 2 orally.  I think you mean if you might have HSV 2 genitally.  If you actually do have HSV 2 orally, it is possible if you give her oral sex that you could infect you, however that is unlikely as HSV 2 orally sheds rarely.  If she does have HSV 1 genitally (not sure you know that for sure either) it may offer her some protection against getting your hSV 2 oral infection (that we don't know at all that you have).

This is your advice from the "expert".  But the other advice from the "expert" is that you would be better off getting facts about your health and the health of those around you before making decisions.  You are making lots of assumptions that aren't confirmed by facts.  A western blot antibody test would offer some great help to you.

I will not be posting any further on this thread.

Was hoping for some answers to my questions so I can gain some knowledge out of of this posting with you. Like I said I don't have both types orally, I do have hsv 1 down below and suspect hsv 2 above.

If she has genital hsv 1 and I give her oral sex on suppressive therapy (I have oral hsv 2) what are the chances she would get genital hsv 2? Just tryin to learn something about hsv 2 orally, chances of passing it and do the chances decrease if she already has type 1 below?

Advise would be great from an "expert."

You have made so many assumptions here.  I can't begin to answer all the questions that you've asked because you have made assumptions that I can't support, especially that you might have HSV 2 orally.  My error, I meant HSV 1 genitally and HSV 2 orally.

I am not an expert in ocular herpes, but if you think you have genital HSV 1 and oral HSV 2, then you need to see an eye doctor.  Have you done that?  Red lines in the eye is NOT diagnostic of herpes.

Honestly, you have taken off on a path with what you think is herpes in various locations on your body that I cannot go down with you.  I am a person based in science.  If you were my patient, I would have ordered a western blot for you and if you were negative by THAT test, then I would assume you are negative.  But you didn't do that, you went with your own and other's clinical impressions, which is not what I do in my practice.

If you are having eye problems, see an eye doctor.  I believe we are finished here.

Things I dont know. If this is HSV 2 Oral (which i suspect) how often will the virus shed? will it be safe to perform oral sex or will the virus be shedding from my mouth frequently?

THANKS

Its clear these blood tests arent reliable anymore. She thinks shes negative and clearly is passing herpes around. I dont know her or care to tell anyone, but there is no other way I got oral hsv 2 except from her. 2 days later all of this occured.

I dont have both hsv 1 and hsv 2 orally. I have hsv 1 genital and i suspect hsv2 orally because i gave her oral sex.
Wouldnt that make more sense? Is there anything I can do to help relieve my eye? Its bothering me very badly today and i am seeing floaters, blurred vision and can see some changes in my eye with brown spots on it.

Any relief would be great! PLEASE.

I'm sorry you are having all these troubles.
It sounds like you have this figured out for yourself.  I hope you aren't making the mistake of telling anyone else that you think the person you gave oral sex to has genital HSV 2, despite her testing negative.  You honestly can't know that and with her negative test.  The likelihood that you would have both HSV 1 and HSV 2 orally, combined with multiple negative antibody tests are very small indeed.
I think it is important that you follow up with an MD that specializes in the eye.  If you do have herpes in your eye, it would be important to know that.  If you are using steroid drops in your eyes and have ocular herpes, that could be a complication.

Since your case is so very unusual and unclear to me (even though it is very clear to you), I'm not sure I can be of much more help to you.

So to answer your question genital hsv1 I assume bc I got it from oral sex and its not recognized by blood test and oral hsv2 bc I gave oral sex.

I also still had contact with this women I had this encounter with (most recent one - giving oral sex) she first said everyone had herpes and then I informed her about the two different types and then she went out and got tested showed me the results through email and she's below .2 for antibodies as well! Maybe she had a recent infection but I wasn't able to get anymore info out of her because she said IM CLEAN LEAVE IT AT THAT. But I know all too well how these blood tests take forever to show antibodies if they ever do.

Sorry it's more confusing then that. I never was diagnosed by a test. I was diagnosed by 3 seperate doctors, two urologist and one std specialist that I have been with for over a year now. I only was culture swabbed once for my genital infection which didnt come back positive, we didnt get a good sample from it. The urologists both confirmed it was herpes in my uretha which later turned to herpes outbreaks all over my genital region, the only thing that stopped them was valtrex after months of outbreaks which I was finally given after 10 months of genital complication!!!!!!. As soon as I'm off it I get an outbreak so I'm on suppressive therapy. I stopped with the test because I had wasted so much money all the way up to 6 months for the blood tests, but we all knew what it was now. I had received oral sex and learned ghsv1 isn't as sensitive to the test as ghsv2. After 6 months of testing and being told it wasn't herpes by everyone bc of the stupid blood test I finally caved and had sex with my gf who ended up getting it after we celebrated the fact that I was NEGATIVE ACCORDING TO HERPESELECT TEST arggggg and by everyone who only follows testing!!! . No she hasn't taken any test but doesn't seem to get it as bad as I do but she had the flu thing and such :/

Anyhow-
Now for my recent infection all the same problems for the initial infection flu malaise full body itching swollen lymph nodes and eye complications! My eyes had a million red lines crossing into the pupil! I put in eye drops and such but usually made it worse except steroid drop helped with the valtrex. But anytime I smoked or got stressed it'd flare back up and pressure behind my eyes was terrible as well as the blurred vision. This all happened after I slipped up and gave oral sex to a girl. The eye vision doesn't get any better just seems to get worse. Today a new swollen node in my armpit and nodes swollen on both sides of my neck. I have had 3 itchy blisters one above my eye that we swabbed 3 days later - negative and the others seemed to die out bc of the valtrex. Just not sure where to go and I'm not happy with the herpes testing, after the 6 month false negative. Also afraid ill pass this onto my gf! Please help

I'm very confused here.  Do you have genital HSV 1 or genital HSV 2 or oral HSV 2 or genital HSV 2?

You say you were accurately diagnosed with herpes at some point.  And was that by a swab test?  I know you said your blood tests have all been negative.  What kind of swab test, and was it typed?

One more thing, I have a girlfriend I stayed away from her until everything showed up negative. She also has herpes (thanks to me) we finally had sex after a month of not, i didnt give her oral sex but i did suck on her nipples. Could i spread hsv2 oral to her by doing that? also will it ever be safe for me to perform oral sex on her? THANK YOU TIMES A MILLION!

Also my lips dry up all the time now, nights i cant sleep full body itchyness (which i use to get on my intial genital herpes infection) and my first time i saw a large fluid blister (week after the exposure) was in my mouth the string like thing that attaches to the upper gum (above the teeth) to the gum above the lip. ITs been a long road and repeating it in my oral region makes life SO MUCH HARDER
