Rectal Herpes??

Sorry for starting a new post, but I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get herpetic proctitis from a rimming episode even when your outbreak seemed to be in the genital area only, not on the anus...the anus is just in constant discomfort even after the vaginal stuff cleared up with valtrex... CDC says it is from anal intercourse, and other oral anal contact causes things in the digestive system (for the rimmer), but for the rimmee, can you get proctitis from that? I am living in fear (will be getting a colonoscopy next week)....wish me luck!

You are worrying way too much.  I'm not sure why you are so convinced this has to be herpes causing all your gi issues.

SORRY!! :-( I was trying to get that answered! I am going for a colonoscopy on tues and really wanted to prepare myself...I do have the above question that I kinda want answerred, plus another question if this gi issue is due to herpes, does herpetic proctitis lead to chronic or is it mostly acute? PLEASE answer this! Then I'll stop annoying everyone!!! :-)
