Rectal Pain

I have had pain and discomfort in my rectal area for many years. Recently the pain has gotten progressively worse (only after I moved my bowl). I went to see a proctologist. He examined my rectum and advised me to discontinue coffee, tea and orange juice. He provided a sauve to be applied to my rectal area. The sauve did not relieve the pain. He took a biopsy which proved to be negative. The pain continued and he sent me to a dermatologist. The dermatologist examined my rectum and asked me a few questions regarding my maritial history. The doctor never examined my penis, never took a blood, or a biopsy. She told me I had virus and gave me prescription (never mentioned anything about rectal herpes).  She informed the proctologist I had rectal herpes. The doctor called my home and notified me of the diagnosis. I am stunned by the dermatologist diagnosis. I have had this condition for many years and many doctors have examined me in the past. Never did a doctor diagnose me with retcal herpes. Is it possible for the dermatologist to make a finding of this type WITHOUT a blood test or biopsy ? I have never had a blister, sore, or symptons related to rectal herpes. Could you please direct me where to go and what test I should request to confirm if I have recctal herpes or not.  Thank you.
