Recurring rashes all over body.

Good afternoon. I'll try to make this brief. In Nov'15 I had a bout w/frequent urination and was prescribed Levaquin &  phenazopyridine. The very next day I broke out in hives/rashes/welts  all over my body (neck, waistline, back, arms, wrists, legs, ankles). I went back to the dr a few days later and was prescribed Bactrim & Flomax. The frequent urination went away but the rashes have persisted and are recurring. I was diagnosed with genital hsv over 15 years ago but have never had an outbreak all over my body like this. Can hsv form rashes all over your body and reoccur for going on 4 months now. What else could it be, if anything? Thanks!

We're all being treated for scabies in the house. When I told my dermatologist that the breakouts were recurring she stated that there had recently been an outbreak of scabies; so she prescribed Elemite. My daughter's pediatrician seemed to agree after he looked her over and saw the bumps and rashes on her arms and hands. We all took our first treatment last weekend, and will take the second this weekend. I hope this resolves it once and for all. Thanks for your feedback!

The only way to know that these symptoms are not herpes is to have them swabbed for a PCR DNA test. But I will opine that this is not herpes at all, partly since your daughter has the same symptoms. See a doctor.

I can only suggest that its not herpes related at all.

My other concern is that my 10 month old daughter has developed similar rashes on her body as well (forehead, cheeks, stomach, back, arms, legs). Her pediatrician seems to think it's viral and told us not to put hydrocortisone on it any more, even though that tends to clear it up before it resurfaces again. My wife and other kids have not had any reaction. Any idea on what could be causing the both of us to have this reaction? I'm more concerned about her than anything else.

Genital hsv would not breakout all over your body. sounds like an allergic reaction
