Red, tight, burning sensation, dry looking scrotum - Herpes

Dr I had protected sex with a promiscuous women about 4 weeks ago.  I am not sure if there was any skin to skin contact, but it was short in duration.  About 5 days later I felt a tingling/burining sensation in my scrotum and I got worried sick. I would also like to note I once woke up with in the morning with heavy night sweats (I believe I drank alcohol fairly heavy the day before).  Anyway as soon at my general provided told me she did not think it was Herpes my sick feelings subsided as it made me feel a little better.  She checked my lymph nodes and they were not swollen, I have not had any blisters (I have been checking regularly), no lower back pain to speak of, no burning when I pee or other symptoms I can think of.  CurrentlyI have a burning sensation in my testicles, they are red, appear to be slightly dry/cracked in spots on either side and it stayed usually tight.  I have had a burning sensation on my entire scrotum, then on each side of it,  and eventually moved near my anus as well.  I used anti fungal cream for 5 days, and after a long day of playing sports and drinking lots of water and using it for days everything felt normal for once! but the next day I woke up and it was red with a burning sensation and very wrinkled again (it is not so tight to my body any more).  3 weeks from the incident I did a HerpeSelect test that came back negative.  My question is do you think there is a good chance I still may have Herpes? Would a test at 5 or 6 weeks be conclusive?  Then if you believe it not to be herpes what are other possibilities of transferred problems I could have?

Thank you for your time I would be happy to compensate you for an answer.

Could I have contracted hsv 1 from when she licked my balls ! Or could I have contracted hsv 2 on my testicals because there not protected and she was a sex worker ! I'm having all the typical symptoms the past 2 weeks headaches sore lower back red rash itchy and burning testicals and public area. There was also one kind of red scab that was in my pubic region for a day and then went there was no blister. I just think it's wired the way this is all happening after an encounter with a sex worker ?

Congratulations on using a condom for your encounter. Your odds of contracting hsv from this exposure is incredibly small. Combine that with nothing you describe says hsv at all.
You can test at 8 weeks and this will be a very good indicator. Twelve weeks is conclusive.

Hi I'm really worried that I might have herpes! I had sex with a sex worker about 5 weeks ago I wore a condom. She also gave me oral with a condom on. She locked my balls for a few seconds ! About 24 hours after I started to feel really itchy on my penis and also had cold/flu symptoms for that went away with in Afew hours. I taught nothing of it at the time. I'm now on week 5 and I'm it's very itchy and inflammed also a kind of stinging feeling when my testicals run of my boxers ! There's no really signs on blister there was one kind of lesion on my public area which was kind of hard to make out then disappeared with in a day or 2 no fluid or anything like that ! Also my anus is itchy ! I'm so worried about this and have been in bed depressed the past week. I'm going to a clinic soon when I get the time of work but I heard u have to wait 3 months for a herpes blood test. Thanks for listening and please get back to me ! :(

OK Grace, your the best, appreciate your help

Your right, I need to stop feeding my paranoia and reading everything possible on herpes.  I find it really strange how the burning feeling is off an on.  A couple weeks ago it was there, then gone, then back again, two nights ago felt great, woke up back to awful, then end of the day yesterday it felt fine (seemed as if eating the garlic killed the burn, coincidence I'm sure), and it feels fine up until now.  Looks a little red, wrinkly and dry, but I understand that could remain there a while from the irritation. I'm just relieved it doesn't feel like my scrotum is on fire for now.

You have been a a big help, please let me know if there is a way in which I can return the favor.

I know it gets confusing when you do a lot of reading, sometimes the best thing to do is to stop reading everything on herpes you can find even!

yes, fungal infections on the scrotum are common. the boys sweat and get infected just like the nooks and crannies down yonder!

the lamisil is just fine. don't use it in combination with the garlic though. Even though garlic can help with topical yeast infections, it takes a long time to do so and it can be irritating to your skin. it's always a good thing to avoid sugars which I assume is most of the yeast diet but at this point, changing your diet isn't going to help with this going away faster.

OK Grace thank you very much for your answer

Some info on the web suggests some herpes carriers can feel sick and have burning in the crotch area and that can be their only symptoms, that really scared me (and as I can see it scares a lot of other people too).  But maybe I was reading about not primary episodes.

I was not aware that I should use the jock itch cream for that long.  I thought jock itch/fungus usually does not affect the scrotum, so I was not aware that is common either.

So for a quick update I thought it might be that Candida so I started the diet and I started by putting garlic through the mincer, I ate a spoonful then took another spoonful and rubbed it on my scrotum, then I ate other stuff according to the diet.  The burning sensation was gone by night time, and I woke up today and it still does not burn.  I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence.  Right now I have no burn, a dark red wrinkled (inflamed) scrotum, and the skin pores/glands seem raised and it still looks dry even though I applied a bland moisturizer this morning.

Do you think I should stick with the diet?  If this is a yeast infection (Candida) I read it might be good to use Monistat externally (even on male yeast infections)?  So do you think it might be yeast, should I get more Lamisil (I used it all in 5 days) or switch to the Monistat?

nothing about this sounds like herpes going on.

jock itch aka fungal infections of the genitals are very common. You need to continue using the antifungal for a full week after symptoms disappear, not just 5 days.

I been paranoid and reading everything I can find on the internet about my symptoms and came across candidiasis, is this a possibility.  I really feel this cam from my protected sexual experience, and it looks like this it the only other possibility outside of herpes.
