Red bump on base of penis

About three and a half weeks after having sex with a new partner, I noticed line of 3 red spots at the base of my penis in the hair region. Two were flat reddish spots and appeared to be irritated hair follicles. The third one was a reddish bump about the diameter of a pencil eraser. Three days later, the two small red spots went away, and the bump flattened, leaving a red area, which has lasted for about 18 days now. While hair grows out of the sides of that area, there is no hair that i can see growing out of the center.  

I had an igg test when they appeared which came back negative, so if this is herpes it would be the first outbreak.

I also had no discomfort associated with the bump or spots.


I'm wondering if this all sounds like something I should be concerned about.

I haven't been able to get the time to do that yet. I'm hoping to next week though.

ps, I'm asking because I'm not sure if it will still be there next week (although it's lasted for a while now) and also because I have not seen too many answers to questions similar to mine in the archives.

Well these don't really sound like herpes.

At this point your partner getting tested to know their status would be the best next step if you haven't seen your provider already.
