care physician suggested I get a second test one month later if no symptoms appeared. My second test results, same test:
HSV 1: <0.90
HSV 2: 1.16
I know this now means that type one was negative and type 2 still positive. I've read elsewhere that any result under ~3 is not definitive, and the now negative type 1 result makes me wonder if type 2 could still be false positive. Would you suggest getting tested again to confirm the type 2 positive? I still have not had any symptoms. Also, my partner at the time I tested positive tested negative for both, so it seems I could have been infected only as recently as 6 months prior to my first test. My PCP was only as helpful as to write on the second test results "only type 2 positive. no more repeats". Should I get retested? Any other test I should try? Thanks for any input!
