This would indicate a positive infection for both hsv1 and hsv2. Most doctors say elivated numbers like this mean nothing but from ive read it means an older infection.
Thanks for responding. It is just weird that the number was so high and no reference chart matches it.
please ask your doctor if that number represents the level of antibodies in your system. I have a number too for both but mine are much lower but still over the recommended number that says that you're positive. I'm hsv1 >5.00 hsv 2. 4.51. all my doctor told me is that at some point I was exposed, but no telling whe, And that I have antibodies for it in my system.
The test I took was the hsv 1and2 Specific Ab, IgG. With those results I indicated in the original post, the reference was index negative if less than 0.91 equivocal 0.91-1.09 and positive if greater than 1.09. Why my results would be in the 30s for hsv or high 20s for hsv2. The numbers are just weird or im not understanding the interpretation for this test. My results just say high on both. I'm so confused. I'm seeing my doctor on monday

You really need more details on what the test results mean and how to interpret them. Some tests have index results and others have units for which you'd need to be over 70 for a firm positive for example.
Try to get more details on the test, whether IgG and the reference ranges.
