Rising score still in low positive range

I have had HSV 1 since I was a kid. I got tested for HSV 2 last year and the result was 1.12. I took the Western Blot to confirm and it was negative. I have had sex with two people since then, only one time each, and with my current boyfriend of six months (and who I trust 100 %) -- who has never tested positive.
I got tested again a couple weeks ago and the result is now 1.57.
Is the fact that the result increased any indication that I have been exposed?
I am going to take a Western Blot again to confirm, but would like more info in the meantime.
Thank you.

It was indeed a false positive. My Western Blot came back negative. I think I will just get the WB tests in the future, as you suggested. Thanks for your help!!!

aaahh well that makes more sense then. at this point nothing you can do but wait and get a WB again 4 months after the last time you had sex with a partner who isn't your regular partner who you know is negative.

since you know you are prone to false positives, probably best to just get WB herpes tests in the future too should you have other partners.

Thank you for your responses.
I tested again because (after I got the WB) I had slept with someone who later told me that had HSV 2 (one time), and with another person whose history I know nothing about but who I suspected was promiscuous (also once, both protected). So out of paranoia and wanting to be 100% sure that I wasn't putting my new partner at risk, I got tested again.
I know I am at low risk but for better or worse I always keep in mind the possibility of exposure . . . (and it does drive me a little crazy)

why did you even test again if your confirmatory WB was negative and you know your current partner is negative?

really no reason for another WB since this partner is negative. save your money!

It is my understanding that both of your antibody ranges are in the "low-positive" range of the Herpeselect test. Only 30% of people who test within this range 1.0-3.5, go on to develop HSV2.

Both of theses tests could be false positives. I would think that if the Western Blot says that you are negative, haven't had any evidence of an outbreak, haven't had any new partners, you are most likely negative for HSV2.

I can't say that for sure however, and you may wanna get some more advice on this.

I've had a similar thing happen to me, and I am still in the process of getting diagnosed. Tested low positive on Herpeselect, Negative on Biokit, strong positive on Herpeselect and am currently awaiting my Western Blot results.
