Risk of HSV-1 genital transmission female to male

I was recently diagnosed with genital HSV-1, which I received from my partner via oral sex (he has a history of cold sores; neither of us knew cold sores could cause genital HSV-1).

We were both tested for STD's before we began having sex, but neither of our doctors tested us for herpes.  We just assumed we had been tested for all dangerous STD's as we both requested "STD testing" and told our doctors why.  

My question is this:  What is the rate of transmission of genital HSV-1 from male to female?  I keep reading contradicting things.  Some posts and websites say the risk is very very low because the virus is outside of its site of preference (the mouth).  Other posts and websites seem to think the risk is much higher.  

I am taking Vanax and plan to continue on suppressive therapy.
