Risk of Herpes infection

My former partner had herpes (I don't know if it was Type 1 or 2) - she told me about after having unprotected sex. However, she was on viral-suppressant medication and I never developed any symptoms so I assumed I was in the clear. After about 1.5 years we also switched to condoms. The relationship ended 2 years ago and lasted for 4 so no symptoms at all for 6 years. I now have a new partner and we have had protected sex several times - I was wondering if it is possible that she should could get infected? What are the odds that I picked up Type 2 and don't know it? I am about to get tested. Thanks.

you and your current partner should both get tested to know what your herpes status is. assume nothing and both of you should cover your  bases with proper testing.

Thanks Grace, will do. Two question - how accurate are modern blood tests at distinguishing between HSV1 and 2? Which one should I get for HSV2? Thanks again.
