SPREADING HSV1

MY PARTNER AND I BOTH HAVE GENITAL HSV1, NEITHER HAVE ORAL HSV.
SINCE WE BOTH HAVE GENITAL HSV1 CAN EITHER ONE OF US CONTRACT HSV1 ORALLY THROUGH ORAL SEX? CAN YOU CONTRACT HSV1 IN BOTH AREAS (ORAL/GENITAL)?
AND IF SOMEONE HAS ORAL HSV1 CAN THEY CONTRACT GENITAL HSV1?

what few studies we have on this shows that anywhere from 1/4 - 2/3's of folks who have hsv1 genitally, also have it orally. Most folks who have hsv1 orally, don't get obvious cold sores to know it.  so really at this point no way to know if you already have it orally or not. even if you don't have it though, the odds of contracting it orally after having it genitally are incredibly low and not really an issue. err on the side of caution of course and don't perform oral on active genital lesions. other than that, we don't suggest any precautions.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. IF I HAVE GENITAL HSV1 AND MY PARTNER HAS ORAL HSV1 THE LIKLEY HOOD OF ME CONTRACTING THE DISEASE ORALLY AND MY PARTNER CONTRACTING IT GENITALLY ARE VERY "SMALL" DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE BOTH ALREADY HAVE THE HSV1 VIRUS IN OUR BODIES??

@Grace: "even if you don't have it though, the odds of contracting it orally after having it genitally are incredibly low and not really an issue." is this vice versa, say you have HSV1 orally can you get it on the genitals?.
