STD

Hi,
I am Rera , 34 yo. I had unprotected sex with my ex partner about ( October to December 2009 ) and March 2010  and then December 2010. I had on and off relationship. I had laparatomy surgery 2 monts ago and then i had information that  my ex partners positive hsv 1 for 8 years ago so its mean that he been silence and secretly about his health with me. So after that i straight away checked my blood. And about 10 days i have the result and said i am negative . Here's the details :
- hsv 1 lgG 0.14 , lgM 0.20
- hsv 2 igG 0.08 , lgM 0.16

i also checked for another std which is syphilis and my results :
- tpha reactive ( 1 : 160)
- vdrl nonreactive

Questions is :
1. Do i have to feel release about hsv or do i have go to another clinic to having another blood test? Cos some of my friends first results could be false

2. Do i have syphilis ? or Do i have to having another blood test too?

Thank you.

save your money on the herpes testing since you waited long enough to test.

Statistically at your age, 1 out of every 2 people you know has hsv1 . It's THAT common!

Even the best blood tests still miss 1 out of every 10 hsv1 infections. you testing negative for hsv1 means you aren't likely to have it though.

no reason for more testing for herpes at this point for you.

you will need to follow up with a 2nd syphilis test in a month to see how it trends and go from there.
