STILL RAW AND SORE!!

He there,

I was just diagnosed this Monday with HSV1(genital area)  I have been taking Valtrex 1000mg daily since then, yesterday I noticed 2 more sores and one on my anal opening.  My outbreak was never your typical outbreak I read about.  Mine became open ulcer immediately and never were cluster-like blisters.  As of today I am so red, raw and ulcered and was told that this was my primary outbreak and that these are typical symptoms of an HSV-1 infection, how long will Ihave to suffer these painful open and ***** sores.  It is almost unbearable.  I thought I would never be in this situation, being in a marriage for 24 years and I have taken all advice from others in this forum, but as the days go by and the pain and sores do not seem to be relieved by medication I thought should help, it keeps me in a funk that I have strongly been trying to dig my way out of.  If anyone can answer my this is happening with new sores and old ones that just do not want to heal please, please answer.  THANKS!!

Grace you really are a godsend  :))  But I mis quoted myself I take 2000mg tabs daily and thew nurse said this was a super strong dose.  I have only taken 5 1000mg tabs so far.  Is it common to have more sores appear after being on this high dose of Valtrex.  I was told this ulceration was common in an HSV1 infection?  Thanks for your kind words.  And I did get your message but not the private message how is this done?

were you able to read my reply to the message you sent me privately?  You need to have your doctor adjust your dose - you aren't on the right dose.
