SUPPRESSIVE THERAPY

I just am very new to this and started suppressive therapy today.  What if i have an outbreak while im on it?  Do i start taking Valtrex, 3 times a day and then continue my 1 a day after 7 days of the 3 a day?  Im just a wreck about all this, it makes you so paranoid!

You can either up it to 500mg 2x/day for 3 days or 2g 2x/day for 1 day and then go back to your regular suppressive dose.  You will still have lesions after either dosing schedule it's just that help to speed the healing of the virus the same amount ( so usually 1 day of increasing your dose is easiest ).

FEel free to ask any questions you have :) Just keep adding them to this same thread to make it easiest for us!

Thank you, yeah I am on 1 g doses so if soemthing starts I will just take it 4 times in one day?  Then go back to my regular one a day?  Also The whole reason I am asking this is becuse I only get it on my lower back, no signs of anywhere else, but on my pubic region, I have a red bump, that kinda is sensitive and no puss inside, medium little, but is going away.  It doesnt crust over or anything, I do get really bad ingrown hair if I shave becuase I have very thick hair.

Yes if you usually take the 1gm/day valtrex dose, the easiest thing to do is take 2 at a time, 2x/day for 1 day.
