Second eposide & healing

Second eposide & healing

Hi,

I am female. I have a very rare Illness called Fanconi Anemia. I had a Bone Marrow Transplant years ago with Chemo and Total body Irradiation. I got Shingles afterwards. My Illness leaves me with a very low immune system. I have just found out I have Genital Herpes that i contracted from my long term partner. He is prone to cold sores and i got Herpes through Oral Sex. Because of my low immune system i got Herpes very bad and was very aggressive. I have been extremely upset and incolsolable, but am dealing with much better. I was put on Anitvirals and finished them a week ago. My question is how quickly can you get a second eposide of Herpes, as i don't feel right down stairs. It feels like a tingly itch and slightly uncomfortable with no sores. This is ever since my first eposide healed. Could this be down to healing? The tingly itch is really annoying. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

what testing did you have done on your herpes?  Odds are this is hsv1 genitally if you got it through oral sex. hsv1 genitally typically doesn't reoccur very often but having a 2nd recurrence within 2 months of being infected is fairly common.  since at this point your symptoms are just itching and no obvious lesions, it's best to go and be seen and get tested for yeast and bacterial infections genitally. both are common with the first humdinger of an ob.

I have had a yeast infection before as I have to take antibiotics regularly. Is it possible to get a yeast infection with no discharge? Perhabs that is the problem! Many Thanks!!

you don't always get obvious discharge with vaginitis.  Getting properly tested instead of self treating is always a good idea because bv usually presents with itching and not always odor or discharge and is common.  otc yeast treatments won't help with bv so it's worthwhile going for the testing.

your regular doctor should be able to test you for vaginitis too.
