Shingles, second outbreak of blisters

by Stratochief, Sep 30, 2009 07:53AM
I am a 47 year old male.  My first (and hopefuly my last) outbreak of shingles started 3-1/2 weeks ago.  I went to see my doctor who prescribed Famciclovir 500 mg, which I took for 7 days and zorivax cream for the blisters/rash.  Everything seemed to be progressing normally, symptoms going away, rash slowly disappearing, then this morning, I noticed new blisters forming in the area where the rash began 3 weeks ago, near my armpit.  Is this common to have a second outbreak of blisters?  Does it mean that I am still in the second phase of the infection?  And lastly, should I ask for a second dose of an antiviral drug such as Famciclovir from my doctor?
