Should I be worried?

one week ago I had an encounter with a long time male friend of mine-we did not have intercourse, but he did rub his penis on my genital area for just a few minutes. Like I said, no penetration or ejaculation occurred, and from what I could see he had no visible signs of having herpes, no sores or anything out of the ordinary. He also says he has never had any type of STD. Should I be worried that I could still have gotten herpes from this encounter? It was 7 days ago, and I am having no symptoms at all. Please help because there is so much conflicting information out there! The guilt is overwhelming me because I am married, and would never forgive myself if i gave something to my husband just because I made a horrible decision. Please help!

I really dont think you have anything to worry about.  Forgive me for being so blunt but I think your guilt of cheating is causing more of your worries.  If anything wait a couple of weeks and get a test done.

I agree that you have little if anything to worry about here.  Although herpes can be transmitted via the method you describe, it is uncommon, and since you are having absolutely no symptoms at all, I feel even more confident that this was a low risk encounter, and one which you would prefer to put behind you.  We are all fallible human beings walking around.  We make mistakes, we learn from them, we move on and probably make more mistakes but hopefully different kinds of mistakes.

I don't feel that you need to test unless you develop symptoms or just get frantic about the contact.

Thank you for your comment. I am certainly feeling guilty, that is for sure.
