Hi All,
First off, I would like to say what a great forum this is. I have learned a lot. Hopefully I am not repeating myself here, as ive seen similar questions, but im a little bit paranoid. I recently engaged in french kissing with a guy (i know he was promiscus in the past). He had no overt blisters on his mouth (not sure about inside, but i doubt it). I asked him if he ever gets HSV1 and he said no (but ppl can lie im sure). I myself have never had any signs or symptoms of cold sores in as long as ive been alive. my question is, what are my chances of getting HSV1 or HSV2 from him? I know thwy say HSV2 in the mouth is really rare, but even the thought that is "could" happen is a little scary. im assuming mouth-to-mouth trasmission of HSV2 would almost be impossible? but what if it did happen, and someone has HSV2 in the mouth, could that person then pass it to someones genitals? and then if you have sex with that person could you then get it on your genitals too (hope that makes sense lol)? Also, this could be my own paranoia...but about one month later after kissing this person, i developed such a severe sore throat, my one throat gland was super swollen, white patches in my mouth, muscle aches...my doctor diagnosed it as strep throat (mind you, there were no blister on my mouth or in my mouth that i saw)...i know i should go with that the doctor said, especially with no cold sores on my mouth. am i just a worrier to think this was a herpes outbreak?
