Should I get tested for HSV?

Hello,

I am 35 year old white male. Over the past 4-5 years I have frequented CSW's on average of 1 time every 2 months. Anytime there was vaginal intercourse it was protected and there was occasional unprotected oral performed on me. Idiotically I was never tested over this period, however, I recently went for tests and tested negative for Hep C, HIV, Syph, Ghon, Chlamydia. Because I have never had symptoms for herpes the clinic would not test for it. I have never been worried about herpes as I have never have any symptoms, but since being denied tests for it my anxiety has been through the roof and I have convinced myself I have it. I have the occasional red dots around the foreskin and penis head (dots are not raised now do they have white heads), however, there is never any itching, pain, burning, and there has never been a ulcer.

Should I be concerned about herpes (HSV 1 or HSV 2)? Truly i am only concerned about HSV 2 as I am aware of how common HSV 1 is.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

The reason some experts and clinics don't test randomly in the absence of symptoms is due to false low positives. They are common enough and can be an issue for certain people. Testing in your case is a personal choice. Your protective Intercourse isn't 100% but still very effective. Congrats on the condom use.
