I have just one basic question. In September, my doctor ran an STD blood test panel on me including an HSV-1, HSV-2 test. However, I have been reading on this forum that some tests are not very useful at all. I am looking to see if I should be confident that the right test was performed. The nurse said that the test which was run "came back negative for the presence of HSV-1, HSV-2 antibodies". She did not specify whether it was an igG test. It had slipped my mind to ask and alas, it is now the weekend so I will have to wait until Monday for confirmation. Should I be concerned that the right test was not done or do you think that the test I have described should give me peace of mind?
