Slightly red and tingling spot below eye for 4 weeks

by jaahas, Aug 05, 2009 04:27PM
Hi. I have had a small round slightly red (you can barely notice that its more red but it is) tingling area below my right eye. Its been there almost four weeks with the same feeling. Sometimes i dont feel it at all but if i focus its there. I have had 10s unprotected sex to a woman unknown std status 9 weeks ago. I am terrified this whole time that i got hiv. Hence i wonder if this could be shingles. I havent felt any else shingles symptom except minor tingling the whole 4 weeks. What could it be? Stress related? I tested hiv negative at 32 and 52 days.

I have no idea why you think HIV or shingles have anything to do with one another, or why you even think this symptom is STD related.

See your medical provider at this point as to your symptom.

In the future practice safe sex until you are in a committed relationship whereby you know your partners status, then you don't need to have worries as such.

Shingles is a reactivation of chicken pox. I think you want to know if the tinglling under your eye or redness is related to herpes not shingles which seems highly unlikely.

I dont know what it is and its driving me crazy.
I read that shingles can come in the acute hiv infection and that shingles can sometimes
appear without the blisters and that it is dangerous if it near the eye.
Can herpes cause this kind of sign? I havent had any other herpes symptoms.

Does any of you have any idea what it could be?

It doesnt hurt, no pain, not sensitive..just tingles little bit and little bit red thats it.
Its been there almost four weeks so I am just wondering..
I have told this to my GP but she has not looked at it yet, since we have been working on my other neuropathy symptoms in my arms and legs (weak for 2,5 weeks, sometimes numb and tingly, muscle twitching etc) which she thinks is caused by anxiety (we have done MRI, lumbar puncture, blood tests, hiv tests, chlamydia, syphilis, bloog suger, white blood cells, b12, reflex tests, etc. and all negative)

Why on earth are you getting all crazed and self-diagnosing with this mix of ailments? It really is not good!

Does your doctor even think it's HIV or shingles related? A simple test can diagnose both! And no, it doesn't sound herpes related at all, but that too can be tested for!
