it shouldnt spread it should kill the off the germs in the spot and make it go away
when broken out on your butt can they be spread in the shower if not covered?
Hi all,
I went to an STD clinic and the doctor said they were just spots. He seemed pretty dismissive of them and said they were more than likely from cycling or sweat etc. I am so relieved.
Thank you all for your replies.
They appear where skin contact was made originally, like the genital area, But can have a recurrent outbreak anywhere in the boxer short area. But tend to break out in the same spot give or take an inch.
Please post your own questions
Thank you all for your speedy responses!
This is the first time I have noticed these spots have never had an outbreak on my gential area before.
I am not sure if the spots on my back are related its just that they appeared around the same time as some of the other spots.
The spots on my butt cheek (3) appeared today. The form a small line.
I am going to an STD clinic in the morning and will let ye know what they say.
Do herpes usually alway appear (the first time) around the genital area?
Thank you all for your replies.
So I am unclear, are herpes oubreaks every pimples or bumps or are they always fluid filled clusters?
I have the same thing as the poster above. Pimples which doctors are calling foliculitis...how can you have foliculitis on your back and butt....no hair there (I am a woman) and on my thighs, ok, I could see how they say that.
No one will swab them because they just look like pimples but before they come they itch like heck!!!!
Hi also, Are these herpes outbreaks from your recent sex? No they would not be. Recent infections would be at point of contact like your pubic mound area. Long time herpes positive folks could have an outbreak on the butt area but this would be considered a recurrent outbreak, meaning youve already had them there before. Herpes outbreaks tend to be in the same location give or take an inch.
Also your mentioning 2 different nerve ganglion areas. The butt is sacural and the back would be considered the upper ganglion. You would not be having outbreaks all over the place.
If your sexually active have a herpes blood test.
if the bumps or spots or whatever are fresh (<48 hours old) try to get to an MD to have them swabbed/cultured for HSV.
If you can't do that, you'll need to wait 2-3 more months and have an IgG test to rule out HSV infection.
The waiting sucks...we all know this. But, it's your only option aside from guessing and having other people guess along with you.
This won't be genital herpes. It sounds more like some hair follicle issues. Maybe show a doctor who might suggest the best way of avoiding the spots.
