So totally confused

by completelyconfused402, Feb 20, 2009 10:23PM
i recently went and had a few random STD tests done.  I regularly get test for HIV most of the time, but I had never been tested for anything else before.  I have never had any symptoms of any STDs , but when I got my results back from my doctor He was very vague.  He said that I tested positive for the antibodies for HSV 1 and 2 but that didnt mean I have the virus...  I asked him "Do I have the Virus?" and he could not give me a yes or no answer..  he just replied with medical lingo that I didn't understand.  Is this normal?  What should i do now..  I have no idea if i have this thing or not and its freaking me out.

Make sure you get an IGG test. If you were given an IGM test the results can be rather meaningless.... Most people have HSV1. I am not a doctor or an expert just trying to help.

i can best help you if you can post the numeric results of your test - ie hsv1 igg 4.4 a nd hsv2 igg 7. 2 or whatever they are.
