Sore throat, headache, HSV1
I was diagnosed with HSV1 about 6 months ago. I am sure I contacted it at a very early age, as I can remember getting canker sores that had the same characteristics as what I am feeling now. I am past feeling dirty, I am just living with it. But I do have some questions.. about two weeks ago I started getting these shooting pains in my head that would come and go, I went to the ER and they said it was sinuses or tension, a week passed, the pains eased off but were still there.. I went to my primary care, after a neurological exam as well as examining my throat she determined it was viral and that was the cause of my headaches. My throat is now hurting and I can see sores on the inside of my mouth and throat, I have a low grade fever and am a bit tired. Has anyone else experienced these headaches with an HSV1 outbreak? Anything will help, just trying to figure it out. Thanks in advance.

Hi, it is not common to have herpes sores breakout inside your mouth and throat but is possible. If you get them again, you should have them swabbed to confirm what they are. Sounds more like a staph infection as the doctors are confirming . How were you diagnosed for hsv1? Sinuses issues can surely cause headaches.
