Spreading

Spreading

Is it possible that one time oral sex, when there are no visible sores, will not spread genital herpes to your partner? If the receiver has genital herpes and the giver is uninfected.

You are asking several questions on our community.  Please in the future let's stick with one thread and you can ask all your questions there.

Oral sex is a low risk for herpes in either direction. With no visible signs of an outbreak your real risk is the viral shedding.

Sorry about that. So that means there is a chance that my partner wasn't infected right? Also can you explain more to me what exactly viral shedding is.

Your risk is extremely low. Oral sex in generally is low risk for stds as stated above. What mistakeguy meant by viral shedding is that it occurs when the virus is shedding without a visible  outbreak. The fact that a person does not have a visible outbreak does not make it impossible to get herpes. That is a well believed myth that is simply not true. Hope this helps. Keep asking questions

If you could get your test results, as well as the type of test you had done to post here someone can review them to see if you had the correct ones ordered. Have you had any visible outbreaks

Ok I'll try to have that done soon and get back to you/someome. I don't get outbreaks very often but when I do it's never like bumps. They're more like lumps underneath the skin. Like a cyst
