StI/STD or ingrown hairs??

Hi! Thank you for viewing my question.
About 2 days ago my boyfriend and I had rough sex. I noticed I had a yeast infection. I'm currently treating that with monistat. The day after we had sex my boyfriend had pain on the base of his penis right where the hairs were. The bumps were red and raised. I also got 3 bumps. Two which look like ingrown hairs. However I noticed two of them look like sores. Much like canker sores. They are bumps with a yellow sore top. They don't itch but they hurt! I am prone to getting ingrown hairs and they get infected easily. My partner and I have been with each other for 31/2 years. He's my first but I'm not his first. Ive never had sex with anyone else and he hasn't either... Any help would be appreciated

Herpes lesions do not show up the next day. They average four days later. The can appear as soon as two days but not one.
Plus the fact you both got these a day after sex tells me this is not hsv related

We were actually talking about it and we had sex Thursday and noticed the bumps Saturday. I just checked them now and they look like oozy yellow puss sores.
His look like infected ingrown hairs. But mine really look like an open canker sore.
