Strange occurances need explained

Two and half years ago I had an oral encounter with someone that later tested positive for HSV1 & 2.  Exactly two months later I had horrible pain in my urethra with lots of discoloring on the penis.  Almost like various sized red and black dots, but nothing raised and nothing ever blistered.  I had no other symptoms like flu/swollen nodes, etc.  Tested for all STD's.  All negative.  I did two subsequent IGG blood tests over the next 16 months and negative.  Since then I continue to have itchy testicles and occasionally itch deep in the penis.  Fourteen months after the occurrence my wife had a "painful pimple" down there.  Mentioned it once and it went away with no other symptoms.  Now, a year later, she indicates itching down there and unusual discharge.  I had recently taken another IGG test at 26 months and again negative.  Could I be the one person in the world that doesn't test for the virus?  I'm very anxious, but don't know what this could be?  The signs point to positive, but the tests say negative.  I thought I've read that bad symptoms typically accompany an outbreak, which hasn't been the case.  If not herpes what could have caused the most painful experience in my life 2 1/2 years ago?  Looking for any input whatsoever as my local doctors don't have a clue.  I would gladly take your comments back to them for further counsel. Thank you.

One of my concerns is that since I've been treated for fungal infections they always say if that doesn't work the chances are it's Herpes.  I have very definite symptoms of something that continue to this day and the incredible pain in my urethra from a few years ago has never been explained.

I would disagree that the signs point to a positive diagnosis for herpes.  The skin changes that you describe sound nothing at all like herpes.  Many things can cause itching of the genital area, primarily fungi/yeast.  I'm not clear what might have caused the most painful experience of your life, but you just don't have symptoms consistent with genital herpes infection.  Urethral pain alone with red and black dots just isn't characteristic of herpes.

If you were our patient, we would encourage you to believe that you don't have genital herpes.  The most likely thing you would get from receiving oral sex is HSV 1, not HSV 2. Your antibody tests are negative for both.   The face that you didn't have symptoms within 2-10 days but rather 2 months later also is not consistent with new herpes infection.

There is just nothing that you describe that makes me concerned that you might have genital herpes  I think what you do have is anxiety and guilt about a sexual experience that was outside of your marriage (at least the scenario sounds that way) and your are terrified you might have transferred something to your wife, or might in the future.  I hope you will accept the test results and move on with your life.  This has been a very long time to stay worried about this, don't you think?
