Test positive HSV2 but no sores other symptoms yes

I have felt terribly since I slept with ex. I had flu symptoms. Internal soreness so bad the dr's thought it could be ghonorrea/chlamydia. They gave me meds and a shot of rocephin just in case. I am still irritated from the inside got test result for HSV2 from swab test POSITIVE I am still waiting for blood results.
I don't understand why I have/had symptoms since I slept with ex but only from the inside no sores at all. How can that be.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Dr. said she had never had a case of herpes with no sores on vagina lips etc.
Help!!! I am going nuts I just found out today.

Your provider doesn't see a lot of herpes then if she's never seen this before. It's very common for females to have lesions on their cervix and inside their vagina with a newly acquired infection.

Did they prescribe you treatment?

they prescribed valtrex 500mg twice a day for 7 days

Your valtrex should've been 1gm 2x/day for 7-10 days, not 500mg.

Only time will tell where your recurrences will be at.
