I have a question concerning the type of herpes test that my Dr. requested. I asked him for a type specific Herpselect IGG test and what I got on the slip is a Herpes Simplex II titer. What is the difference? I guess this will test for only type 2. If it does or does not find some virus, is it as accurate as an IGG .
You'd have to ask the lab which test they are using if the slip only says hsv2 titer. Also if you want to know your hsv1 status ( which unless you know you get cold sores you should also get tested for that ) give your provider a call and ask them to add on that too.
, but I get those occasionally. And from what I have read they are not a form of herpes so I have ruled it out as a symptom. But I still just want to get tested for HSV2 and will be retesting for HIV
