Testing for Virus

In theory, if there was a "cure" for Herpes and an individual took it, what scientific test is available to prove the individual can no longer transmit the virus? Would Herpes antibodies eventually go away?

I suppose it depends on what the cure did.  Would it eradicate it completely from your system killing the virus.  Then I am sure antibodies would go away.  Or would it make it lay dormant forever?  Then I feel it wouldn't be transmittable but you would still be creating antibodies.  I am no where near a doctor.  Nor do I have any idea what I am talking about lol  But that is my guess.  Not to sure what the others would say.
