The risk of transmitting

This morning i performed oral sex on my gf that lasted about 5 minutes, 2 to 3 hours later I noticed a cold sore beginning to start, what are the chances of me infecting her both orally and genitally?
We are both not prone to cold sores
Thank you.

This is a risk since odds are you were shedding the virus when you performed oral on her. At this point nothing to do though but just wait and if she notices any genital symptoms in the next 2-3 weeks, she should see her doctor within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture , typing and treatment.

has your gf ever been tested for herpes?

Thank you for your comment, she has not been tested and neither have I, but since I do have a cold sore I have to have it, I have had cold sores before in my life but I am not prone to getting them, Is the risk very high or very low that she will contract it genitally?

it all depends on if she already has it orally or not. If she has hsv1 orally, whether she gets obvious cold sores or not to know it, she has significant protection against contracting it genitally from you.

I know it's hard to wait and see but at this point, not really anything else you can do.

I have been kissing her for the weeks coming up to the cold sore and she still has not gotten a cold sore on her lip, (although my cold sore is kinda different from other cold sores and is already healing after 2 days so im wondering if it is one at all) so does this probably mean that she has it orally already? I read nearly 85% of people have it orally...

the only way to know if she has hsv1 orally already is if she gets tested. Most folks who have hsv1 orally, don't get obvious cold sores to know it.

so its been nearly 3 weeks and still no symptoms in either of us genitally or her orally either. So is it nearly safe to say i didnt transmit it or it probably wasnt a cold sore...??

it's probably safe that you didn't give it to her genitally.

did she get tested yet to know her own hsv status?

She was tested 1 week we had oral sex and she got the a few days ago which came up negative everything. But she wasnt tested specifically for herpes.

well she'll need tested for herpes to know her status so that you know if you have to worry this much about your hsv1 oral infection with her or not.
