I was diagnosed with hsv-1 about 2 months ago after taking a blood test for all std's. I have no insurance so I tested at a lab that only gives you the results, no opportunity to ask questions. I have had two sores develop in my mouth that disappeared within days after rinsing with peroxide but I have had a tingling sensation at the head
for several weeks with no redness or blisters. The person that infected me is positive for hsv-2 and has been on valtrex for over a year so here is my question. How can I have hsv-1 when the person I contracted it from has hsv-2 and what medications are available to me to stop the tingling sensation without developing an outbreak on my penis
You don't know you contarcted HSV1 from this person you have probably had it for some time and been asymptomatic until now,the tingling sensation on your penis
could be caused by a variety of things you need to see you Doctor about that as I think it is a totally separate issue if your test result only came up with a positive HSV1 result.
